We offer a variety of glass capillary viscometers because no single viscometer is ideally suited to every application. Use of high quality instruments ensures test reliability and accuracy

Transparent

For transparent/translucent liquids

Suspended Level

For transparent/translucent liquids. Ideal for testing at multiple temperatures because they have the same viscometer constant at all temperatures.

Dilution

For dilution of polymer solutions to provide an estimate of the molecular size and shape.

Reverse Flow

For transparent and opaque liquids. Must be cleaned, dried and refilled between repeat determinations.

Vacuum

A special type of reverse-flow viscometer for highly viscous samples (transparent or opaque). Accurately controlled vacuum is required to pull the liquid through the viscometer.

The Cannon-Ubbelohde Dilution Viscometer measures intrinsic viscosity of transparent Newtonian liquids. Minimum sample volume is 8 mL (can be diluted to 40 mL). Minimum bath depth is 305 mm (12 in). The CANNON CT-518 bath is recommended. (CT-500 and CT-600 baths are not deep enough.) Viscometer constant is the same at all temperatures. Both calibrated and uncalibrated viscometers are available. Calibrated viscometers include a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet.

The Cannon Four-Bulb Shear Dilution Viscometer measures intrinsic viscosities extrapolated to zero shear rate with negligible kinetic energy correction. Minimum sample volume is 20 mL. Minimum bath depth is 280 mm (11 in). Minimum bath depth for viscometers with the 10x range of shear rates is 430 mm (17 in). Both calibrated and uncalibrated viscometers are available. Calibrated viscometers include a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet.

CANNON-Ubbelohde Four-Bulb Shear Dilution Viscometer

The Cannon-Ubbelohde Viscometer, with a more rugged design than standard Ubbelohde viscometers, measures kinematic viscosity of transparent Newtonian liquids. Minimum sample volume is 11 mL. Minimum bath depth is 254 mm (10 in) but it must be submerged to 220 mm (8.5 in). Both calibrated and uncalibrated viscometers are available. Calibrated viscometers include a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet.

Unity factor series has a constant within +/- 0.2% of the values listed. Both calibrated and uncalibrated viscometers are available. Calibrated viscometers include a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet.

Minimum sample volume is 1 to 3 mL. Minimum bath depth is 230 mm (9 in). Unity factor series has a constant within ± 0.2% of the values listed. Viscometers are provided with a certificate of calibration and instruction sheet.
